2 October 2025 Tradition and Connection Take Center Stage at HWS Homecoming

Events include the President’s State of HWS, athletic matchups, research symposium and the inaugural Corgi Fall National race.

Hobart and William Smith will host Homecoming & Family Weekend from October 3–5, welcoming alumni, families and friends back to campus for three days of celebration, connection and community.

“Homecoming is a celebration of everything that makes HWS special,” says Executive Director of Alumni and Alumnae Relations Melanie Sage ’95, P’25, P’27. “We look forward to welcoming our extended community back to campus.”

The weekend will feature campus tours, arts events, research presentations, open houses and athletic competitions, including Hobart football vs. RPI, William Smith field hockey vs. St. Lawrence, and alumni sports gatherings. Signature events include President Mark D. Gearan’s State of HWS Address, the Summer Research Symposium, GAMEDAY Lunch & Fun Fest, stargazing at the Perkin Observatory, and the launch of the inaugural Corgi Fall National race at halftime of Saturday’s football game.

Family-friendly activities include boat excursions on Seneca Lake, live music and photo booths and more to round out the festive weekend. Religious services including Protestant Episcopal Eucharist service, Roman Catholic Mass and a Bagels & Lox Open House at the Abbe Center for Jewish Life will close the weekend on Sunday.
