Dr. Richard Cytryn 75 P14, 16, a physician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) in New Brunswick, N.J., will visit campus on Monday, Dec. 3. As an experienced medical professional, Cytryn will speak with students about the current changes to the health care system as well as dynamic requirements for admissions to medical school.
Cytryns talk, Medicine: Beyond the Science, will be held at 7 p.m. in the Seneca Room. His visit is sponsored by the Salisbury Center for Career Services and the HWS health professions club.
In addition to working at RWJUH, Cytryn also serves as a non-invasive clinical cardiologist at Cardiovascular Interventionalists of Central Jersey. He has taught at Yale Universitys School of Medicine, as well as other institutions. He has also held a fellowship position and served as a council member with the American College of Cardiology, and was secretary of the New Brunswick Board for Medical Associates of New Brunswick.
Before launching his medical career, Cytryn was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa national society and graduated cum laude from Hobart College with a bachelors degree in biology. Upon graduating, Cytryn attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he received a M.D. His residency was at the Beth Israel Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital before completing his fellowship position at Brigham and Womens Hospital and St. Vincents Medical Hospital.
