WASHINGTON, DC Today the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced its endorsement of Alan Lowenthal for the U.S. House of Representatives in Californias 47th district.
Alan Lowenthal has been a stalwart environmental supporter throughout his political career, and has led the charge in cleaning up the Ports of L.A. and Long Beach with new transportation infrastructure and reduced air pollution, said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. LCV Action Fund is proud to endorse Alan Lowenthal for Congress because he has proven that a clean, healthy community can boost our economy and spark job creation, and he will be a strong environmental ally as Representative of Californias 47th district.
California State Senator Lowenthal is widely known as one of the most effective champions for Californias environment, having earned a lifetime score of 96% on California League of Conservation Voters California Environmental Scorecard during his 14 years in the state legislature.
Senator Alan Lowenthal has worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents in leading the effort to reduce the millions of tons of pollutants released into our air at our states ports, thereby improving air quality, reducing pollution-related diseases that impact thousands of lives, and creating green jobs, said Sarah Rose, CEO at CLCV. As a member of Congress, hell stand up to big polluters and work hard to advance the clean energy economy and to protect our air, water, land, and our most precious resource: our people.
I first ran for public office to clean up the pollution in the port of Los Angeles twenty years ago, and I havent stopped fighting for our environment since, said Alan Lowenthal. Im proud to be endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund, and I look forward to working with LCV and CLCV to bring strong environmental legislation to Congress. Together, we can encourage the emerging green industries that will provide green collar jobs for Californians, clean up the pollution that threatens the health of our citizens, and protect the neighborhoods, coastline, and air of the 47th district.
