Regan '13 Interns at Chegg, Inc.
1 August 2012 Regan 13 Interns at Chegg, Inc.
This summer, Sean Regan 13 is living the undergraduates dream taking in the warm California sun while gaining valuable insight into his future career. Regan is interning with Chegg, Inc., a textbook rental company headed by HWS Trustee Daniel L. Rosensweig 83, who serves as the companys president and chief executive officer.
Regan, an economics major, is working in the companys Bay Area headquarters in Santa Clara as a finance intern. Although Regans duties vary from day to day, his current project involves analyzing the companys past budgets, as well as their budget plans for the future.
Regan found that taking advantage of all that the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development has to offer was particularly helpful in attaining the internship. With the help of Assistant Director Stephanie Annear, Regan found the internship, which integrates the economics he has studied with his love of finance.
My internship goes hand in hand with my future plans, explains Regan. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience.
On campus, Regan is a member of the Hobart lacrosse team, and is pursuing a minor American studies.
Regan is one of several students who have had the rare opportunity to intern with Chegg. In the past, Isaias Garcia 12 and Abby Rudman 11 have also worked with the company in their public relationships and marketing departments, respectively. The students were afforded the chance to interact with customers, create promotions and assist with community service programs.
Throughout his career, Rosensweig has created internship opportunities for HWS students to work directly with him. Often, heoffersstudentsjob opportunities following graduation. He dedicated the Rosensweig Learning Commons at HWS in 2008.
