The Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development is proud to welcome Trustee Calvin R. Chip Carver Jr. 81 back to campus Thursday, Oct. 28, to discuss the ins and outs of working on Wall Street, and how to succeed in a career in finance. Carver currently serves as the chief operating officer at leading global financial services company Markit, where he manages infrastructure activities and global technology development.

Mr. Carver has been instrumental in helping students find jobs, internships and networking opportunities over the years, says Associate Director of Employer Relations Joe Ambrosetti. His insight and advice on todays ever-changing financial industry will prove invaluable to those looking to enter into the field.

Before joining Markit, Carver was CEO of SwapsWire and managing director of Goldman-Sachs. He received his B. A. in economics from Hobart, and went on to earn his M.F.A. from New York University. Carver has been a member of the Board of Trustees for eight years, and serves on thefinancial affairs committee as vice chair,audit committee as chair, honors committee, investments committee and technology committee.

Carver will be accompanied by guest speakers from Markit Group, Nathan Ondyak, director of solutions product; Jennifer Crupnick 10, sales associate; and Elaine Rabkin, vice president of recruitment for Markit Group. Students are also invited to learn about job and internship opportunities with Markit. The discussion will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Coxe Hall, Room 008.
