26 April 2010 DAgata 95 to appear on Bookworm

John DAgata 95, author of Halls of Fame and, most recently, About a Mountain, will appear this month on Bookworm, KCRWs weekly radio show, which showcases writers of fiction, nonfiction and poetry.

On Thursday, April 29, DAgata will discuss About a Mountain, which the Bookworm producers call philosophical, lyrical, dense with factstunning. The interview with the Bookworms host, Michael Silverblatt, will begin at 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time and can be heard online.

In the New York Times review of About a Mountain, Charles Bock wrote that About a Mountain is engrossing story and an often impressive piece of reporting.

The Los Angeles Times called it exquisite a fluid mix of reportage and conjecture-with the personal, political and philosophical interwoven like overlapping roller coaster tracks[A] nearly perfect nexus [in which] to investigate our post-millennial concerns.

A 1995 graduate of Hobart College, DAgata graduated summa cum laude with an individual major. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and earned High Honors in literary/non-fiction. After graduating from Hobart, he went on to earn two MFA degrees-in nonfiction and poetry-from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop. His other books include The Lost Origins of the Essay and Next American Essay.
