The Hobart rowing teams varsity eight finished eighth in a field of 38 crews in the Collegiate Eight event at the Head of the Charles Regatta.
In frigid temperatures and rain, the StatesmenReynaldo Kelly, Max Swagler, Matt Scanlon, Jack Trimble, Francis Craig, Andrew Fosbrook, Carmen Cimini, Harold Zurakowski, and David Grossmancovered the 3-mile course in 15 minutes, 48.198 seconds. The time was the third fastest of the day, but Hobart incurred two 10-second buoy penalties, raising their time to 16:08.198. (Complete Collegiate Eight Men Results)
On Saturday, Hobarts second varsity eight finished 12th out of 46 entries in the Mens Club Eights event, (Complete Club Eights Men Results) and a crew of Statesmen alumni placed 10th out of 34 entries. (Complete Alumni Eights Men Results)
Hobart is back on the water on Oct. 25, when the Statesmen compete in the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
