Junior John Moulthrop and sophomore Holly Huffine won the A division at the MAISA Spring Open with 39 points. They finished 11 of the 14 races in the top-3, including two victories. In the B division, first-years Patrick Kana and Aimee Kelleher placed second with 25 points, after winning seven of the 14 races, and never finishing worse than fourth.
Seniors Austin Kana and Kaitlyn Van Nostrand earned fourth-place in the A division of the America Trophy. They totaled a score of 67, after finishing seven of the 13 races in the top four, including two wins. Junior John Sampson, first-year Austen Anderson, and junior Meghan Jordan sailed for HWS in the B division, placing seventh with a score of 97.
At Navy, sophomore John Babbitt, first-year Alex Butti, sophomore Sam Padnos, and junior Ned Turney represented HWS. The four Statesmen combined for 16 points to win the 10-team regatta. They won five of the 10 races, recorded four second-place finishes, and came in third once.
The sailing team will be back in action April 25-26, when it hosts the MAISA Womens Spring Dinghy Regatta on Seneca Lake, and competes in the Admirals Cup at Merchant Marine, and the Morris Trophy at Boston University.
