Looking to meet new friends? Find the perfect Valentines Day date? Look no further than the Find-a-Friend, Meet-a-Mate event.
The third annual Find-a-Friend, Meet-a-Mate event will take place at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in the Cellar Pub, opening with a performance by 3 Miles Lost. The space will be transformed to help set the mood and encourage students to mingle with one another.
The event offers a unique twist to the speed-dating format. Students are provided with conversation starters at each station to encourage the fast pace. In the past, students have had the opportunity to meet more than 60 students and engage in one-on-one conversation.
Hosted by the small house resident assistants, Find-a-Friend, Meet-a-Mate is returning after an overflow of positive feedback.
Kristen Tobey, the assistant director of small houses, describes the planning efforts for the two previous events as, A truly collaborative effort put forth by the small house staff. Their hard work and dedication to creating a fun-filled atmosphere provided a positive experience for everyone who attended.
