4 February 2009 Upper Echelon, Lamont Carey Perform

Award-winning hip hop duo Upper Echelon will take to the stage at HWS on Friday, February 6. Upper Echelon (UE) has earned critical acclaim for their debut album, Tragedy 2 Triumph, including the 2007 Underground Music Award for Best Rap Duo. The New Jersey-based duo came together after releasing many individual albums, creating a new style in order to share their stories with every kind of listener. They have been recognized for their electrifying performances and heart-felt songs, winning major showcases throughout the tri-state area.

Opening for UE will be Lamont Carey, a Def Jam poet who has received countless awards for his poetic achievements. Most recently, Carey has created and directed a new TV series and stage play, Laws of the Street.

The performances are sponsored by Campus Activities Board, and will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, in Albright Auditorium.
