Art shows, theatrical productions, bowling, slam poetry and a variety of religious observances and sports competitions combine to offer something for everyone on campus this weekend.
Friday, Feb. 22
Houghton House show Habitats and Hibernation, a collection of new sculptures and drawings by William Smith alumna Corey Breneisen '98, remains on display at the Houghton House Gallery through today.
William Smith Herons Basketball vs. Union, 6 p.m.
Slam Poetry A Slam Poetry event will start at 6 p.m. at the Intercultural Affairs Center, as part of the HWS community observance of Soul Week and of February as Black History Month, organized by Sankofa: Black Student Union.
Shabbat Celebration HWS Hillel will celebrate Shabbat beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Abbe Center for Jewish Life, 764 S. Main St. All are welcome.
Hobart Statesmen Ice Hockey vs. Elmira, 7 p.m.
One Act Plays The Phoenix Players will stage One Act Plays 2008, beginning at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow in Coxe Hall. Two well-established plays are paired with two student-written one-act plays; all four shows are directed, produced and performed by students. The evening will include Drugs are Bad, by Jonathan Rand, directed by Sam Page '10 and starring Jeff Warren '10; The Informer, by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Jonah Levy '08 and starring Steven Owens '09; Esteban, written and directed by Kelly Masterson '10 and starring Ryan Schiff '10; and One Final Memory, written and directed by Andrea Rocchio '11 and starring Hallie Martenson '09.

Saturday, Feb. 23
Bowl for Kids' Sake A two-hour afternoon program, filled with music, pizza and (of course) bowling, starts at 4 p.m. at Sunset Lanes, just off Routes 5&20 west of the city. All money raised will go directly to the HWS Chapter of Big Brothers-Big Sisters; each team of 3-5 bowlers is asked to raise $50 per bowler.
'Harlem Nights' The HWS community is invited to come join Harlem Nights, an evening to re-live the Harlem Renaissance through dance, music and art, will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Barn, as part of Sankofa's celebration of Soul Week and of February as Black History Month.

Quaker Meeting for worship will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Demarest 212, The Fisher Center; all are welcome.
Debate Team The HWS Debate Team will meet at 1 p.m. in Stern 201.
William Smith Basketball vs. Skidmore, 2 p.m.
Roman Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. at St. John's Chapel; all are welcome.

House Church Weekly Chapel will take the form of House Church at 5:30 p.m. at the home of faculty members Nan Crystal Arens and David Kendrick, 15 College Ave. The group will reflect on the scripture appointed for the day, share a simple Eucharist and then have supper. Everyone is welcome.
