Odell's Expansion Underway
14 November 2007 Odell's Expansion Underway
The Village at Odells Pond is growing. Construction of Odells 4, consisting of 12 new units in an arrangement similar to the existing townhouses, will start on Monday, Nov. 19. The building project will require current Odells apartments to lose power from approximately 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, or if it rains, Monday, Dec. 3.
Parking changes will also be placed in motion over Thanksgiving break. During the break, all cars need to be moved from outside the current Odells apartments and parked in the Odells South parking lot across St. Clair Street. Any car left parked outside the townhouses will be towed.
Students returning from break will find half of the current parking spaces occupied by construction equipment in a fenced-in area, and new directional signs will be placed through out Odells. The community is reminded to adhere for safety sake.
Scheduled to be completed this summer, the project will continue through the remainder of the academic year with construction crews working from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Creating more housing opportunities for students is a component of HWS 2010, a strategic planning initiative.
Those with questions or concerns can call the Building and Grounds Office at (315) 781-3660.
