9 November 2007 Alumnus Simpson discusses Darfur

Matthew T. Simpson 04, a senior research associate at the Public International Law and Policy Group office in Washington, D.C., was recently interviewed by Radio Sawa, an Arabic-language network, about the genocide in Darfur and the peace negotiations that seek a resolution there.

He and his partner, Tara VanDeMark 03, visited Cyprus this summer, in connection with work on behalf of the Iraq Supreme Court. His provocative and stimulating review and assessment of the 2005 Iraq constitution will be included in the next issue of the HWS Public Affairs Journal.

An economics and critical social studies double major who minored in math, Simpson graduated cum laude and was a member of the sailing team, Chimera and Orange Key, and served as class president.
