Phil Buttafuoco '83 has been named chief executive officer of Pantheon International, a privately held sports marketing and event management firm with properties in California, Indiana, New York and Florida.
Buttafuoco has more than 20 years as a collegiate athletics administrator. He was commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference from 1998 to 2006, and responsible for implementing a business model to help the Conference improve and expand its officiating, championship and student-athlete honors programs.
He also worked at the National Collegiate Athletic Association from 1989 to 1998, as assistant and then senior assistant director of championships, managing the growth of events including the Division I Mens Ice Hockey Championship, Divisions I, II and III Mens Lacrosse Championships, Division I Womens Soccer Championship, Mens and Womens Skiing Championships and the Division I Mens Golf Championships.
Buttafuoco lives in Sandwich, Mass., with his wife, Janet, and their two sons. He is a coach and member of the boards of directors of the Cape Cod Canal Youth Hockey and Sandwich Lacrosse League.
