31 May 2006 Scandling inducted into Brighton High Hall of Fame
William F. Scandling '49, LHD '67, was recently inducted as a charter member of the Brighton High School Alumni Hall of Fame.
A story in the May 31 issue of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle's Our Towns: Southeast section describes how Scandling, member of the BHS Class of 1940, founded Saga Food Service Corporation at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, which grew to serve more than 300 college campuses, 250 hospitals and many restaurants.
He was also a philanthropist who became one of the colleges' biggest donors, the item concludes.
