Steve Penn of the HWS physics faculty has recommended a recent article in The New York Times about the LIGO.
Penn is part of the team that has designed and built an observatory capable of measuring tiny fluctuations in spacetime. With funding provided by the National Science Foundation, these scientists have created the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, known as LIGO.
