Director of Theatre Robert F. Gross was asked to take a short break from his theatre research to write Malice: Mannerist Noir for the recently published volume, Considering Aaron Sorkin: Essays on the Politics, Poetics and Sleight of Hand in the Films and Television Series, edited by Thomas Fahy and published by McFarland Press. The essay, discussing the 1993 neo-noir thriller with Bill Pullman and Nicole Kidman, is the first essay in a volume devoted to the work of the creator of The West Wing.
