David Ost, professor of political science, has just had an article titled Poles, Jews, and Post-Communist Insecurities published in the May-June 2003 issue of Tikkun: A Bimonthly Jewish Critique of Politics, Culture and Society. The article discusses recent Polish debates about World War II era anti-Semitic pogroms in the context of contemporary Polish economic ills, critiques American Jewish responses to the debate, and recounts Osts personal encounters with small-time anti-Semites in Krakow.
