Math major Lindsay Brown 05 offered insight into a math problem she solved in a presentation, titled Too many upside down and right side up triangles, to the math department at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in Lansing 300.

As a component of Professor Ann Oaks Math 320 class, Brown was asked to solve the problem How many triangles of any size are contained in a triangle of length n?

Brown intends to pursue a career as a secondary math teacher. On campus, she is active in the Latin society, club hockey and softball, America Reads, Pride Alliance, and the Teacher Education Program. She is the recipient of the Robert Nathaniel Tannen Memorial Scholarship.
