24 March 2003 Joseph Attends the African Literature Association Meeting

George Joseph, professor of modern languages, recently chaired a panel titled Bible Translations: A Lighthouse and Library for African Languages and Literature at the African Literature Association meeting in Alexandria, Egypt, March 19-23. He also gave a paper titled, Bible Translation and the Quest for a koine Wolof and was elected to the Executive Committee of the Association. The conference was held at the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina constructed near the site of its predecessor, which was the most famous library of classical antiquity.
