21 August 2002 Amherst native Interns with Chamber Music PLUS

Web development and advertisement solicitation consumed most of Wren Gleasons workday with the Chamber Music PLUS this summer.

August 21, 2002 GENEVA, N.Y.Last Friday, Wren Gleason, a rising junior at William Smith College, completed an internship with Chamber Music PLUS, Inc. (CMP) of Hartford, Conn.

Gleason worked for the not-for-profit writing and editing press releases, developing their Web site, and soliciting advertisers for the 2002/2003 season playbill. She also took part in a statewide conference discussing the future of the arts in Connecticut, which was facilitated by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts.

Johannes K. Neuer, operations manager at CMP, praised Gleasons contribution to their communication and advertising efforts.

Gleason was connected to the internship through the Career Development Office at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she is majoring in public policy. She is also a member of the William Smith rowing team and volunteers at the American Legion in Geneva. This fall, she will be studying European history in Galway, Ireland.

CMP, in its 23rd season, is recognized as one of the most active and innovative chamber music organizations in the country. Currently resident ensemble of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, CMP also serves as artists-in-residence at Quinnipiac University, tours regularly throughout the U.S., creates a line of recording titled Chamber Music Presents, and maintains an active commitment to youth with Music Speaks To Me, an arts-in-education program.

Gleason is the daughter of Dr. John and Janet Gleason of Amherst, N.H. She is a graduate from Souhegan High School.
