Decision for Wind Power Purchase Praised Again
20 August 2002 Decision for Wind Power Purchase Praised Again
The Colleges' decision to purchase wind power was lauded again in an editorial titled HWS Pursues Worthy Goal in the Friday, August 16, Finger Lakes Times. The editorial told of Hobart grad Michael Vaillant's suggestion to purchase the power, while he was working on a student energy project with the building and grounds department. Quoting economics professor Tom Drennen, communications director Susan Murad, administrative services director Paul Bringewatt, and President Mark Gearan on the details of the purchase and its ramifications, the editor remarked, The colleges are to be commended for putting their money where their mouth is. And, Michael Vaillant deserves credit for having a positive influence on the greater Geneva community and the world.
