Carol Parish, assistant professor of chemistry, has been appointed to the American Chemical Societys Women Chemists Committee (WCC). This national organization is responsible for attracting, developing, and promoting women in the chemical sciences. The WCC began in 1927. Only two other professional organizationsIota Sigma Pi and the Red Crosshave had longer-standing subgroups dedicated to the advancement of women.
