Jim Ryan, professor of biology, was invited to join the Species Survival Commission of the IUCNThe World Conservation Unionas a specialist in African small mammals. The Species Survival Commission is a global network of scientists committed to the conservation of biodiversity. The commissions draft policies, guidelines, and educational materials for international conventions, including CITES.
