Abigail P. Johnson ’84
President of Fidelity Employer Services Company

Abby Johnson is president of Fidelity Employer Services Company (FESCo), a unit of Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the United States, the No. 1 provider of workplace retirement savings plans and a leading online brokerage firm. FESCo provides retirement, benefits and human resources outsourcing, workforce effectiveness, payroll solutions and stock plan services. Additionally, Johnson is a director of FMR Corp. and a member of the Fidelity Management Committee.

Prior to becoming president of FESCo in May 2005, Johnson served as president of Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo), the investment management organization of Fidelity Investments. Previously, she was an associate director of Fidelity’s equity division, overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Growth and Capital Appreciation groups. She also was manager of equity investment systems, responsible for managing and facilitating the implementation of technology initiatives in the investment organization, representing the portfolio managers in the development of new systems. Johnson was named associate director of FMRCo in 1994.

Previously, Johnson was a portfolio manager, and managed several Fidelity funds, including Fidelity Select Industrial Equipment Portfolio from 1988 to 1991, Fidelity Select Telecommunications Portfolio from 1991 to 1992, Fidelity Select Developing Communications Portfolio from 1991 to 1993, Fidelity Dividend Growth Fund from 1993 to 1994, Fidelity OTC Portfolio from 1994 to 1996, and Fidelity Trend Fund from 1996 to 1997. Johnson joined Fidelity full-time in 1988, after spending two summers as an equity research analyst at the firm. Johnson was appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees in 2001.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Johnson was a research associate with the consulting firm of Booz, Allen and Hamilton.

Johnson received a bachelor of arts degree in art history from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1984 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1988.
