I recognized early in life that education is the great equalizer and can be the path to a better tomorrow. For me, being able to assist others in taking this path by being a consistent donor to HWS is one of my greatest rewards. At HWS, I made lifelong friends and was introduced to a curriculum that was years ahead in its thinking. I love to tell the story that, after graduation, I thought that I would eventually go to law school. However, when an employment opportunity presented itself with my local utility, I applied and, within 6 years, earned a license to operate the controls of a nuclear reactor. Truth be told, I never took a science course during my years at HWS, however, the skills that I developed there were responsible for my being able to pass the rigorous training process necessary for attaining this license. Never underestimate the value of a liberal arts education!
