Milissa Rehberger '93
With more than 15 years of experience in television news casting, Rehberger keeps the public informed about the issues of the day in her role as daytime anchor for the 24-hour cable news channel MSNBC. Among many other stories, during her tenure as anchor, she has covered the Tucson, Ariz., shooting involving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the death of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il.
Following graduation from William Smith, where she majored in communications, Rehberger had several internships and landed her first job at a small cable news station on Long Island. By coincidence, she arrived in time to cover the biggest story in the area's history - the Joey Buttafuoco case, which allowed her to work alongside national reporters.
On the strength of her reporting during the Buttafuoco and other cases, she landed a job at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn., before serving as weekend anchor for WHNS/Fox 21-TV and as a reporter for WSPA-TV, both in Spartanburg, S.C.
After four years, Rehberger went on to serve as morning and noon anchor for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, Okla., where she contributed as a health team reporter and field anchor. Entering into an even larger market, she headed to Orlando, Fla., where she became the evening co-anchor for WOFL-TV.
In December 2003, she joined MSNBC as a freelance anchor and reporter. In less than a year, she was named anchor of its primetime news updates. In addition to her role on MSNBC, she has also spent time anchoring NBC's "Early Today" and MSNBC's "First Look."
