An award-winning senior communications professional with more than 12 years of marketing, PR and digital experience, Rachel Henderson ’06 serves as vice president of Warschawski, a full-service advertising and communications agency in Baltimore, Md.

At Warschawski, Henderson provides strategic guidance on the agency’s client accounts and oversees the execution of integrated marketing communication campaigns. In addition to her strategic communications background, Henderson is a thought leader in the growing virtual reality space and brings this expertise to the agency and its clients. As a member of Warschawski’s senior leadership team, she plays an active role in the agency’s strategic direction and new business development.

Prior to joining Warschawski, Henderson was vice president of corporate and public affairs for Ogilvy Public Relations in Washington, D.C., where she managed a variety of clients who needed her expertise in media relations, global public health, corporate responsibility and sustainability, crisis management, partnership development and public affairs.

Most recently, Henderson served as Communications Manager for the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Netscampaign, the world’s largest effort to fight malaria. As the campaign’s “chief storyteller,” she traveled to Africa several times to meet with refugees and capture their stories. Henderson also handled the press strategy for campaign ambassadors, including two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, as well as other professional and Olympic athletes, celebrities and campaign partners.

Throughout her career, Henderson has won more than a dozen communications and film industry awards, including several for her work launching the virtual reality film, “Under the Net” for Nothing But Nets; for her role on the LIVESTRONG Global Cancer Campaign; and for her role on the Huggies® “Every Little Bottom” program. Henderson is a frequent speaker at industry conferences across the country about the power of virtual reality storytelling.

Henderson holds a dual B.A. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in media and society, and Spanish and Hispanic studies. An active supporter of the Colleges, Henderson is a frequent guest of the Colleges’ Professional in Residence series, returning to campus to share her expertise in the public relations field as well as at the annual Day on the Hill program in Washington, D.C. Henderson is a member of PRSA, Washington Women in Public Relations, The Communications Network, and Women in Sports and Events.
