A morning view of campus and the City of Geneva

Our location in Geneva, N.Y. lends itself to a variety of transportation options, including nearby airports, train and bus stations. Below is a list of resources to assist you in getting to campus.

Getting to Campus

Airports

Campus is approximately a one-hour drive from both Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport and Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Airport transportation service can be contracted with our preferred local vendor, Finger Lakes Limo Service.


Bus Station

There is a bus stop in Geneva located at 372 Exchange Street. Our Campus Safety Office can provide rides to and from the station as needed. Tickets can be purchased online.


Coach Buses

The Office of Student Engagement coordinates roundtrip coach bus transportation to New York City and Boston during the Colleges’ fall, winter and spring breaks. Learn more here.


Ride Sharing

The Office of Student Engagement coordinates a virtual ride-sharing board for students interested in finding a ride with or providing a ride to other students from their area. Families often coordinate rides together on the Parents and Families Facebook Group as well.

Train Station

Amtrak has stations in Rochester, N.Y. and Syracuse, N.Y. Both locations are approximately a one hour drive from the HWS campus. Transportation service can be contracted with our preferred local vendor, Finger Lakes Limo Service.

Transportation in Geneva

All students are able to have a car on campus, but it is certainly not necessary. The HWS Office of Campus Safety coordinates a nightly shuttle service that transports students to locations across campus and select off campus locations in Geneva. Campus Safety also provides escort service to students as needed.

Popular ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are available in Geneva as are local taxi services. Students can also access the Rochester Transit Service bus system throughout Ontario County.
