J-Term & Summer Programs

Campus Photo

Hobart and William Smith Colleges offer three summer programs for current and non-matriculated students to take courses for full academic credit. The Maymester and Summer Session programs are designed for current students, nonmatriculated college students, and others interested in taking a college credit for academic, professional, or personal reasons. The programs provide an opportunity for students to further their education experience with an HWS faculty member; to get ahead or back on track with graduation plans; and to address curricular requirements at HWS or at other institutions of higher education.

J-Term

J-Term runs from January 2 to January 17, 2021. Current students and non-matriculated students will be able to take one course with an HWS faculty member for 3.5 hours, five days a week (note that J-Term courses meet on weekends). Classes are scheduled in the mornings, with afternoons and evenings for class preparation, projects and assignments. The tuition for courses is $3,000. All 2021 J-Term courses will be offered remotely and students will not be in residence on campus.
