Major: Classics

Leadership and Extracurricular activities: I was a student government junky. I was part of William Smith Congress my first year. Sophomore year, I found myself voted Secretary of William Smith Congress and meeting with the deans. Junior year I was Class President and an RA. Senior year I was on the Senior Gift Committee. I also worked in Alumni House (the third floor) during my time at William Smith. I also helped with Orientation during my tenure at HWS. I was an ARAW facilitator for the first years, teaching them about rape and to be on their guard despite the coziness of campus. I was involved in the Classics Honor Society, Eta Sigma Phi. Intramural Soccer and softball were also somehow managed in my schedule.

Favorite professors: Leah Himmelhoch in the Classics department was amazing and fun. Honestly, anyone who can use a "your mom" joke in Latin and Greek grammar is amazing in my book. My advisor, Michael Armstrong was also great. His dry sense of humor (most students didn't get or weren't listening) made the "oh so fun" Roman history classes comparable to an episode of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Professor Patterson also makes the list. His passion for English and American History, as well as gender studies, was contagious.

Further education: I’m currently at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire taking prerequisites for Veterinary School

First job after college: Working the summer at Fox Run Vineyards on Lake Seneca.

On leadership
William Smith showed me that leadership isn't just a general giving orders. WS showed me that there are many facets to being a leader. I would like to think that each leadership position was slightly different in its own way. I learned from each of these positions and added to what I already knew and learned. The various positions I held helped me innovate and make leadership fun, not only for myself, but for everyone around me.
