"There have been exciting changes on campus over the
past few years, and I'm eager to see that progress
continue. Giving to The Fund for Hobart and William
Smith is a vote of confidence in the Colleges."

What is The Fund? The Fund for Hobart and William Smith is an essential element of the Campaign for the Colleges. Just as new and renovated construction provides an environment for learning, and endowment perpetuates the best teaching and scholarship, a strong annual fund underwrites the Colleges’ distinctive liberal arts education …for generations to come. In fact, no gifts to the Colleges have more immediate impact on today’s students than those made every year to The Fund for Hobart and William Smith. To support The Fund for Hobart and William Smith, please contact Bill Deptula at (315) 781-3700, e-mail him at Deptula@hws.edu, or Make an Online Gift Today.
Who supports The Fund?Every gift makes a tremendous difference to Hobart and William Smith. Alumni and alumnae participation helps create the participation rate that is used as a benchmark in the college rankings made by U.S. News & World Report. The Colleges are especially proud of the support our parents and families make to The Parents Fund. Many Hobart and William Smith parents have made gifts for 10 years or more. Students also contribute a collective Senior Gift during their final year at the Colleges.
How can my gift have an impact? Annual gifts support the Colleges’ budget where funds are needed most. During the Campaign for the Colleges, you will have the opportunity to designate your annual gifts in any of seven important areas:
- Colleges’ Greatest Needs
- Campus Enhancement
- Center for Teaching and Learning
- International Study
- Library
- Scholarship Support
- Technology
... every gift matters
- All gifts to The Fund for Hobart and William Smith are counted as gifts to the Campaign for the Colleges.
- All gifts from alumnae to The Fund for Hobart and William Smith will also be credited as gifts to the William Smith Centennial Fund.
- Gifts made by Reunion classes will count toward their cumulative class contributions.
