The Medal of Excellence is the Hobart College Alumni Association's highest honor. It is awarded to an alumnus who, by reason of outstanding accomplishments in his particular business, profession or community service, has brought honor and distinction to his alma mater.

On January 2, 2010, Dr. Harry W. Coover, Jr. '41, P'66, inventor and innovator, received the 2010 Hobart Medal of Excellence during a ceremony in Hot Springs, Va.
