A creative and dedicated leader, Patricia Heieck has defined catering services on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus for the past three decades. Her firm belief that members of the Colleges' community are an extension of her own family guides her as she works tirelessly to ensure that every catered reception, from the simplest to the most complex, exceeds all expectations. Today, Hobart and William smith colleges honor Patricia Heieck for her unwavering commitment to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for those who work with her, and for the special touch she adds to every occasion we share as a community.
Patricia Heieck began her professional career as a second grade teacher in New York and Vermont. After starting a family, in 1976 she joined Dining services at Hobart and William smith. She has planned meals for more than 17,000 students and alums and has impressively managed catering for events in celebration of hundreds of visiting dignitaries including heads of state, 18 Elizabeth Blackwell award recipients and nearly 50 honorary degree recipients.
The dedicated work of Patricia Heieck has contributed to the success of celebrations related to a multitude of diverse Colleges events, including Commencement, Family weekends, admissions receptions; Reunion weekends; the William Smith Centennial; summer Kids Colleges and Kids Camps; weddings; memorials; and gatherings of faculty, staff, clubs and organizations. She has worked with four presidents of Hobart and William Smith Colleges. In 2008, she was honored during Centennial Weekend by Hai Timiai with an inaugural Hai Timiai Award. She was chosen for "her tireless dedication to student services and her invaluable advice and leadership."
