Director of Student Activities
Kristen joined Hobart and William Smith in 2003 and is responsible for the overall supervision and leadership of the Office of Student Activities. In addition to overseeing opportunities for students to get involved on campus, Kristen works closely with the orientation program, Hobart Student Government, William Smith Congress, student trustees, budget allocation process, fraternities, and clubs and organizations. She works on several campus wide committees and serves as a judicial hearing officer. Kristen enjoys helping students take advantage of their out of class experiences which promote student development and teach valuable leadership skills.
Kristen graduated from Marywood University with a master’s degree in school leadership and a dual bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, playing in a coed softball league, and bringing her golden retrievers Kinley and Hadley for frequent swims in Seneca Lake.
Associate Director/Fraternity Advisor
Kimberly Kochin holds a master's degree in arts education and an undergraduate degree in studio/fine arts with emphasis in advertising and design, and minors in philosophy and communications from Mansfield University. In addition to advising several student groups, she has also served on several campus wide committees. She works directly with the Hobart fraternities, student governments and the Budget Allocations Committee. She is known for her open door policies, good sense of humor and problem solving.
Kimberly is also an avid concert-goer, music enthusiast and pop culture maven. She volunteers regularly in the Geneva Community serving on the Geneva BID Committee representing the Colleges at Cruising Night, Light up Geneva Auction, Finglerlakes Wine and Music Festival. She has received awards and accolades for her work on campus and in the Geneva Community for her services.
Jessie Marullo recently earned a master's degree in student affairs administration from the University of Rochester and a bachelor's in recreation management from the College at Brockport. For the past two years she worked at a variety of institutions including the Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester and the College at Brockport. Her work there concentrated in campus life and student activities, athletics, and community outreach programming. Jessie advises the first-year, sophomore and junior class presidents, chairs the concert advisory committee and helps deliver a wide range of exciting campus programming.
Denise Polanco recently earned a master's of education degree in school counseling. She is a William Smith alumna with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. As an undergraduate student, she was highly involved in student clubs and student programing through her student worker position in Student Activities and leadership on club executive boards. Prior to rejoining the HWS community, Denise advised students at both the high school and middle school level in various academic and personal/social issues. In her current position, Denise oversees student clubs and organizations as well as helps to create new and vibrant campus programming.
Theresa is the administrative support for the Student Activities Office. She assists the many student clubs with space requests, reimbursements and other paperwork involved in facilitating student club events.
She processes payments, invoices, purchase orders and helps the clubs with budgeting. She also hires and supervises the student office workers and organizes semester break bus travel.
TAs Assistant Director, Darnell coordinates the club sports program for Student Activities . Additionally, Darnell serves as the Assistant Director for Residential Education and supervises the William Smith Hill and Odell's 25-48. He also coordinates professional staff training and development for Residential Education. He is a graduate of The College at Brockport where he earned a bachelor's degree in physical education with a concentration in exercise physiology. He also has a master's degree in athletic administration. In his spare time, Darnell enjoys working out, playing tennis, planning a program or eating at a new restaurant.
