Lifeguard (Part-Time Seasonal)

Skill in the application of lifeguarding techniques. Maintain surveillance of swimmers. Maintain a safe environment in which the participants can swim. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Maintain all New York State Department of Health Code regulations as set forth in the children's camp policy manual for aquatics and lifeguarding.


  • Report to the pool, in swimsuit, five to ten minutes prior ot the start of your shift
  • Unlock locker rooms
  • Be ready to begin guarding at the start of the shift
  • Observe all swimmers and be ready to give assistance if needed
  • Run regular buddy checks
  • Enforce pool rules
  • Close and lock the pool at the end of your shift


Must be at least 16 years of age. Possess current lifeguarding, first aid and CPR/AED certificates as issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent certifying agency.


This is a part-time seasonal position. The schedule includes weekdays and weekends, both afternoons and evenings, from mid-June until the end of July, 2017.
