A student hired as an Office of Advancement Student Worker will experience a variety of responsibilities related to philanthropy and parent support services, including Parents Executive Committee, Cook Parent Giving Circle, Commencement planning, leadership giving and more. Tasks may include clerical support, data entry, and phone calls. Student workers may also be assigned general office tasks such as running errands, supporting special projects and mailings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help with data entry in Raisers Edge database, run simple reports
  • Provide support to the Parent Programs Office staff and Frontline Fundraising Team as needed, with clerical support, research projects, outreach and other duties as assigned
  • Assist with mailings and donor outreach with keen attention to detail, accuracy and professionalism.
  • Student workers may also be assigned general office tasks such as running errands, supporting special projects and helping with mailings.


  • A genuine interest in philanthropy and willingness to learn about fundraising and its importance to the colleges is required.
  • An interest in learning about donors to the Colleges
  • Ability to provide meticulous detail
  • Willingness to maintain strict confidentiality about all donor and job-related information
  • Reliability
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Have an enthusiastic and positive attitude and willingness to learn
