Assistant HWS Athletic Trainer

The two departments sponsor 22 intercollegiate programs with over 500 Hobart and William Smith student-athletes participating. The person will work with an interdisciplinary sports medicine team that includes physicians, physical therapist, and athletic trainers that is committed to providing the best possible care for HWS student-athletes.
Hobart and William Smith Colleges is a NCAA Division III member of the Liberty League, ECAC West Hockey, as well as Division I of ECAC Lacrosse.
The assistant athletic trainer works under the supervision of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine/ Head Athletic Trainer. The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation within the Colleges comprehensive sports medicine program. This staff member will share in the supervision and development of student aids; the coverage of team practices and contests; the communication between physicians, coaches and parents; and the computerized record keeping of injuries and treatment. Team travel, evening, and weekend work are required. Travel assignments will include women's ice hockey with an additional travel responsibility to be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
This is a new full-time, 10-month, benefits-eligible administrative salaried position. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.
