PAID TIME OFF BENEFITS - VACATION
Full-time, 12-month Administrative Employees
- Twenty working days per year, awarded each July 1, to be used July 1 - June 30
- Maximum of 10 vacation days may be carried over on July 1 each year
- Maximum of 30 earned unused vacation days may be paid out to employee at time of termination of employment.
- Pro-rated vacation during the first year of employment - during the first year of employment, employees will accrue a prorated amount of the standard allowance based on the number of months worked from their date of hire up through June 30. The prorated amount will be equal to 1/12 of twenty days (the standard allowance), for each month worked. On July 1 following their date of hire but prior to one full year of service, employees will be given that prorated amount of vacation to be used between that July 1 and the next June 30. For example, employee's date of hire is November 1, 2002. On July 1, 2003, the employee would be awarded 15 vacation days for working nine months. These vacation days will be available for use during the July 1, 2003, and June 30, 2004, year.
Hourly, Staff Employees
An accrual rate is established for hourly employees to earn vacation time on the number of hours paid by the Colleges to the employee. Beginning with the first day of work, vacation time is earned on each hour paid (worked and paid time off), up to 40 hours per week at the following hourly accrual rates. Vacation time will be paid at the employee's regular straight time hourly rate. At the time of employment termination, the bank of earned, unused hours will be paid to the employee. Changes to accrual rates will be adjusted in the payperiod following the employee's anniversary date.
