Posted on Friday, August 30, 2013
The Center for Global Education (CGE) will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 4, for students interested in learning more about participating in one of the more than 30 abroad programs available in the fall semester, 2014. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Vandervort Room. Students observing Rosh Hashanah who are unable to attend the meeting may visit the CGE office to get the necessary information.
"This is the first step to studying abroad, so it's very important for interested students to attend," says Director of the CGE Doug Reilly,
The CGE organizes programs on six continents for the nearly 60 percent of HWS students who study abroad. The programs provide students with academically challenging study abroad experiences that foster an in-depth understanding of another culture, with the aim of encouraging them to embrace the concept of global citizenship.
Programs offered for fall 2014 include: Aix-en-Provence, France; Bath, England; Berlin, Germany; Bremen, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; Budapest, Hungary; Beijing, China; Copenhagen, Denmark; Edinburgh, Scotland; Galway, Ireland; Hikone, Japan; Hong Kong; India; Korea; Landau, Germany; Leipzig, Germany; Maastricht, Netherlands; Nanjing, China; New Zealand; Norwich, England; Perth, Australia; Prague, Czech Republic; Quebec, Canada; Rennes, France; Rome, Italy; Russia; Taiwan; Tuebingen, Germany; Townsville/Cairns, Australia; Vietnam; and Wales.
The Princeton Review ranked the HWS Abroad Program 18th in the nation and NAFSA: Association of International Educators named HWS one of only five winners of the prestigious Senator Paul Simon Award for campus internationalization.
