Desiree Ameze Guobadia, a research professor of law at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at University of Lagos, will present on "Federalism, Ethnicity, and National Integration in Nigeria: Matters Arising" at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, in Stern 201. The event is cosponsored by the Provost Office, Political Science Department and Africana Studies Program.
The author of 12 books, Goubadia has also written numerous journals, papers, reference works and book reviews. Her insights on how to achieve justice and peace through federalism and its power structure, and through national integration of ethnic and religious groups within Nigeria, have distinguished her among academic scholars alike.
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, she earned a law degree from the Nigerian Law School, and was awarded an LL.M from University College, University of London. Her professional career has been devoted to the areas of constitutional law, company law and corporate governance.
