Scholarships and Financial Aid

When you support scholarships and financial aid at Hobart and William Smith, you are changing lives. Students with the ability to attend the Colleges need to have the financial resources to make attendance possible. During the past five years, the Colleges have expanded the financial aid budget from $27 million to $43 million, making financial aid 30% of the overall operating budget. This has allowed the Colleges to grow while enrolling students of great merit. Concurrently, we've maintained the 11:1 student to faculty ratio with an average class size of just 17. Support of scholarships and financial aid is critical to our efforts in making sure that our students do not graduate with debt that precludes career options or burdens their opportunities for success.

In addition to providing general support for financial aid, donors with both the means and the interest can establish a named Annual Scholarship with a gift commitment of $5,000 each year for four years.
