10:05-10:15     Welcome, HWS Provost Titilayo Ufomata

10:15-11:30     Small group introductions (introduce each other) followed by whole group                          introductions

11:30-1:00       Brunch

1:00- 3:00       (Please seat yourself with new people after brunch)
                        At tables, brainstorm ideas for 1) our next meeting on Nov. 16 and
                        2) projects for Spring 2014—what would benefit us the most as a working                          group?*
                        We may re-mix groups as time permits.

3:00-3:15         Break

3:15-5:00         Whole group ideas with online/on-screen note-taking; vote on our next                          steps/projects

5:15-6:30         Dinner


*Sample project ideas:

  • Paper workshops, with volunteers submitting papers ahead of the meeting
  • Teaching workshops—exchange current practices or collaborate on new courses/pedagogies
  • Design a speaker series with speakers shared across institutions
  • Plan a symposium
  • Organize a central website with teaching materials, resources, texts and videos, CFPs, etc.
  • ASBH panel planning/organization of humanities interests at ASBH
