"After graduation, I moved to Washington, D.C. and took a job as an editorial assistant for the Shakespeare Quarterly at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Next I accepted a position as production manager of The New Republic, working my way to managing editor and then executive editor of the publication. From there I went on to be come the national affairs editor for Newsweek. Now, as the executive editor of The New Yorker, I work closely with the writers, editors and art department while assigning stories, supervising projects and overseeing the editing process."
