This exhibition includes video works and a series of small-scale sculptures. Using humor, Jenny Wu reveals the arbitrariness of border walls, and the absurdity of the political climate from an immigrant's perspective. This four-letter word, wall, deepens the divide between us, blames "the others" for America's own problems, reinforces hate, and imposes a simple solution to a systemic problem. The videos were made the most American way possible -- outsourcing. The series of sculptures are small-scale layered latex paint on wood panel. The process mirrors the action of building and the appearance resembles the structure of a wall. The title of each wall sculpture is triggered by a Trump tweet on the day each work is completed. The wall is not a solution; it is putting a Band-Aid on a broken bone.
