Graduate School after HWS

Many of our graduates go on to earn a Master's in Architecture degree or Master's in Landscape Architecture degree, while others choose to enter a program of graduate study in interior design, industrial design, urban design, city and regional planning, fashion, or real estate.

There are over 70 graduate programs in Architecture (M.Arch) and over 35 graduate programs in Landscape Architecture open to HWS Architecture Studies majors and we have good relationships with many of them because our students do well both in applications and once they're in their chosen graduate program.

"While at HWS, I learned the world of design is not something that is limited to buildings. This concept, coupled with my love for boats, inspired me to pursue yacht design. So, I enrolled in the Landing School for a intensive one-year program on yacht design, which ultimately prepared me for work in the marine industry or at a yacht design firm."

"I did an independent study in architectural theory with Professor Mathews, who was a wonderful guide as I navigated through the fascinating (and extensive!) history of this subject. Never had I imagined that history and theory could be so rich and engaging. He truly opened my eyes to the wealth of avenues one might explore with and architecture degree."
