Located on what is commonly referred to as Emerson Hill, Emerson Hall, built in 1969, is home to both Hobart and William Smith Students and forms a quad with Caird Hall, de Cordova Hall and McCormick House.
It is a traditional residence hall, but is set up in friendship suites, which are 4 bedrooms (2 doubles and 2 singles) with a living room and a bathroom. Each room is equipped with full telephone, cable, and computer/Internet access.
Home to 83 students, Emerson Hall houses two lounges, four small kitchens, laundry facilities and handicapped access. It was renovated in 2004 to upgrade the rooms and hallways.
The first floor of the building is used as classroom and meeting space.
