Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff,

In an effort to enhance health care services at Hubbs Health Center, we have converted from a walk-in clinic model to an appointment-only model. An appointment-only system is the most commonly used model for out-patient health care both in the private sector and on college campuses today. There are many benefits, including higher quality of care, reduced waiting times and improved access. As before, we will continue to be staffed with a part-time board certified physician, a full-time board certified nurse practitioner and a full-time board certified physician assistant, as well as several licensed professional nurses and a full-time receptionist.

Students can schedule an appointment by calling our new appointment phone line at (315) 781-4530. If a student is calling to make a routine or follow-up appointment, the receptionist will schedule an appointment with one of the providers. If a student is sick, he or she will be transferred to the triage nurse who will assess concerns and make an appropriate clinical recommendation regarding an evaluation and appointment time. We will reserve a block of time dedicated to urgent appointments each day, as well as a nurse clinic to evaluate other less acute clinical concerns.

We continue to offer a wide range of available hours to meet students' needs. The clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with our receptionist available to schedule appointments from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A nurse is available to see students who have urgent needs on a first-come basis between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Students should be prepared to show documentation of any medical insurance when visiting Hubbs.

All other health concerns or questions that don't require an appointment can be directed to (315) 781-3600.

As always, we strive to provide high quality, low cost, clinically appropriate health care to our students in a compassionate and timely manner. Feel free to call Hubbs Health Center to schedule an appointment, or with any questions or concerns.
