SAFE RIDE SCHEDULE

A campus safe ride shuttle operates in the evenings. It services the entire campus, including stops at Wegmans and the Town and Country Plaza. The purpose of the shuttle is to provide a safe ride to students who will be walking alone. You can call to request the shuttle during its regular hours of operation by dialing ext. 3656 from any campus phone (315-781-3656 from a cell phone).

Downtown Shuttle

A shuttle van is provided on Friday and Saturday nights to give students transportation to and from destinations in downtown Geneva. The shuttle van follows a defined route and makes fixed stops at locations downtown and on the campus. The last stop is in front of Campus Safety in the Medbery parking lot.

The downtown van stops at:
• Campus Safety (start)
• 1 Franklin Square (downtown)
• Smith Opera House (downtown)
• McDaniel’s House
• Beta Sigma
• Sherrill Hall (corner of Pulteney and St. Clair Streets)
• O’Dell’s Village
• Winn-Seeley Gymnasium
• Campus Safety (last stop)
The downtown van will arrive at each stop approximately every twenty minutes
The shuttle program is jointly funded and managed by the Colleges and the student governments with administrative support provided by Campus Safety.

SAFETY ESCORTS

Campus Safety Officers are available to act as an escort for students with special needs and any students when they require a safe way to get around campus, especially students who are walking alone after dark.

If you need an escort, please contact the Office of Campus Safety (ext. 3696) from a safe location and wait there until a uniformed officer picks you up. Campus Safety does not typically provide this service during the hours that the Campus Shuttle is operating unless there are unusual circumstances.

 

SAFE TRAVEL TIPS

  • Walk in pairs (three is better); do not walk alone.
  • Walk in well-lit areas
  • Plan your route. Remember the location of safe areas and emergency phones.
  • Use designated walkways.
  • Tell someone of your destination and expected time of return.
  • Do not carry large amounts of cash.
  • Do not stop for strangers.
  • Do not hitchhike.
