The Human Resources Office for Hobart and William Smith Colleges supports employment searches for administrative staff, faculty, student employees, and temporary hires. Individuals interested in a position vacancy should follow the online application instructions.

HWS performs reference checks on all candidates seriously considered for employment. Prior employment and degree verifications, if applicable, will be performed prior to extending a job offer. Additional background screening will be performed depending on the position responsibilities.

About The Colleges

HWS is a great place to work and to shape lives of consequence. Founded as Hobart College for men and William Smith College for women, Hobart and William Smith Colleges today are a highly selective residential liberal arts institution with a single administration, faculty and curriculum but separate deans offices, student governments, athletic programs and traditions. The Colleges are located in a small diverse city in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. With an enrollment of approximately 2,300, the Colleges offer 62 different majors and minors from which students choose two areas of concentration, one of which must be an interdisciplinary program. Annual Security Report

"Living Safely," the Hobart and William Smith Colleges' annual security report, is published annually by the Office of Campus Safety and is posted on the HWS website.

The report provides information about safety at HWS, how and whom to report crimes, emergency notifications, timely warnings, the Colleges' response to dating violence, domestic violence, stalking and sexual misconduct. The report also provides primary prevention programming and ongoing awareness programming information for students and employees, safety services, the Colleges' policy and programming related to alcohol and other drugs, emergency procedures, response to bias related incidents and hate crimes as well as crime statistics on campus for the prior three years.
